The TRS-80 Color Computers only saw two Imagic releases. The TRS-80 Color Compter release of Dragonfire proved to be a very unique version of the game and Demon Attack also holds up quite well, despite the 4-color limitations of the Color Computers. While the game may lack some of the visual flash of some of the other Demon Attack releases, the core game play remains intact and a wicked-looking Demon Mothership level further adds appeal to this well-made version of the game.

In Demon Attack you take control of your space cannon and must destroy wave after wave of enemy Demons as they swoop down towards the planet's surface. Along the way, you'll have to take on the Demon Mothership where you'll have to slowly chip away at the Mothership's force field until you can get a clear shot at the Demon's head. With a well-placed shot, you can then take this Mothership down.

The control in this version of the game is solid and retains the trademark Demon Attack game play feel perfectly. As with many of the Color Computer games, you will need a joystick to play this game, as it cannot be played using the computer's keyboard. The visuals are a tad bland, but that's to be expected with only 4 colors able to be displayed onscreen at one time. Programmer Mark Voorsanger did a great job of using these 4 colors in a way that gives the game a good amount of detail, despite these limitations. The sound effects are also quite good, but do become a little repetitive after long playing sessions. Considering the TRS-80 Color Computer's hardware lmitations, this game is actually an extremely good effort.

Programmer Mark Voorsanger went on to program the Colocovision version of Fathom for Imagic and later helped create the Toe Jam & Earl games for the Sega Genesis game console. Mark still remains active in the world of video game design.
